Profile
30+ years' office/secretarial experience. Places of employment include the Yorkshire Bank, Plessey (now Siemens), MRC Institute of Hearing Research, Baldwin Cox Accountants, Office service agencies - Boots, Dalebank Books at Shrewsbury, University of Nottingham - Medical School & International Office, 'Topper' (newspaper).
A sample of completed work:
- A life story by a man in his twilight years so that he could pass it on to his grandchildren. I typed this from manuscript and had it comb-bound at the local printers to save costs.
- A semi-autobiographical novel by a 90-year old soldier, living his dream by getting his work in print. This was produced by using AuthorsOnLine. He also wanted to pass this round his family and friends and ordered 30 copies.
- Countless essays, dissertations and theses on various subjects for students from both the UK and overseas.
- "I was impressed by your diligence." "Thank you so much - I couldn't have completed this study without your help."
- A number of academic books for members of staff at the University of Nottingham:
- three books by Nick Manning, School of Sociology & Social Policy, describing the New Russia:
- Work and Welfare in the New Russia
- Poverty and Social Exclusion in the New Russia
- Health and Health Care in the New Russia
- "These three books on Russia would have been impossible to complete without the thorough editing and layout undertaken by Christine. Her work has been exemplary, timely and intelligently crafted - all that a writer could ask for in seeking to present their work in the best possible way. I would recommend her without any hesitation as utterly reliable and thoughtful; someone who can make a real contribution to the high quality of a finished publication."
- Professor Nick Manning (now Director, Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham/NottsHC NHS Trust)
- one in a similar vein by Roy Bradshaw, School of Geography:
- After the Fall: Central and Eastern Europe since the Collapse of Communism
- two books by Peter Boyle, American & Canadian Studies:
- The Hungarian Revolution and the Suez Crisis
- Eisenhower
- a reference-type book by Cynthia Marsh, School of Modern Languages:
- A reference book on Gorky's plays
- "Of course I remember you, and I am still very grateful for what you did for me."
- a reference book with a difference by Tony Fitzpatrick et al., School of Sociology & Social Policy:
- The International Encyclopaedia of Social Policy
- A web-based course for Chris Ennew, Nottingham Business School
- "This innovative web course was supported by Christine's attention to detail when proofreading its content."
